Eric's New Home--by MOM
Eric at the front door of his new apartment in Columbia..Apt 512-on the second floor--Go figure. (That is his only living room window and it is just next to the TV in the next photo)
The boys clowning around after a hard days work. This was taken from the front door looking into the living/dining area --Eric should be HUGGING Cody for the increadible amount of work he did...and playing Truck Driver for the day. Cody couldn't wait to get behind the wheel of that U-haul!
This is one side of the small, but efficient galley kitchen....complete with disposal and dishwasher--just behind that wall is the entry way and coat closet (this place is loaded with closets)
Eric kicking back on his bed in his small 'master' bedroom. The door leads out to the balcony (see below) and on the wall just past his feet is the walk-in closet...HEY, I don't have a walk-in closet and I have WAY more clothes than he does!!!
This is the second bedroom/office. Eric will be investing in a futon soon for this room so he can sleep guests that want to visit. It also has a pretty long closet to the right side of the desk and bookshelf...not a walk-in but it holds a lot.
The bathroom....pretty standard issue, though Eric likes his new state shower curtain. He thinks of it as a learning tool. Just behind this wall is the opposite side of the kitchen, that was not pictured
This is the balcony off Eric's bedroom, over looking a wooded creek...like being in the wilderness a scant mile from work.
We just HAD to pick a day when Mizzou had a home football game to move, but except for the extra town traffic, and the multitude of cars with stuffed tiger tails hanging out of their trunks, it was not that bad. We made good time, and unloaded the truck in record time and Cody helped Eric assemble a lot of his furniture and get set up. We headed to take the U-Haul back and got to see some of the town and got to show Cody and Joe where Eric will be working before grabbing dinner at Chili's. It was time then to leave our youngest to get on with his new life.....not ever an easy thing for Joe and me to do...so through hugs, tears, more hugs and goodbyes we headed home to Quincy, leaving Eric to make his home in Columbia...We wish him all the happiness his heart can hold, but for tonight at least, I embrace the emptiness in mine while I adjust, again, to letting go of one of my babies. I love you baby bear!!!

I love you Cindy! Proud of you Eric.
I loved the glimpse into Eric's new home, he definitely found a great place. I hope he has a great first day of work monday.
I can't even imagine the emptiness your heart feels but take comfort in the fact that you have 3 amazing young men that have started a great life for themselves.
Thank you for sharing the pictures of Eric's new apartment. It takes me back to when I moved. Eric good luck tomorrow at your new job and future.
Aww Cindy...my heart goes out to you! I love you! ...and am so proud of Eric! What an awesome first-place...(except I didn't see an end-table by the couch...I only got $12 out of mine...sure wish Eric had it instead)! Great to have such a nice wooded area so close...and being close to work is a huge Bonus! Hope today is going much better for you! HUGS :) (for you too Joe!)
What a nice place to start his next life adventure....Good Luck ERic at that first day on the new job! Looking forward to a visit there!
Thanks for the pictures. It's so nice to see Eric's new home.
Who knew they were going to hook up his router for the internet on the back wall of the dining area near his bedroom...He didn't want it to set on the carpet, so for now that is what his end table is being used for until we can come up with a better solution...lots of 'tweaking' left to do. Thanks everyone for the love and support...it had kinda hit us now that Cody went back to Jacksonville too...I am very thankful in my prayers that God 'planted' 2 of my boys close enough that I can really see them most any time...maybe not daily, like I'd like, but often enough they don't get sick of me. :-)
That apartment looks great! Much better than my first place. Good luck Eric, I know you'll do great! Shawn and I are only about an hour and a half away...if you ever need anything give us a call. Love you!
I bet by now, Eric has seen the life size Beetle Bailey statue on the campus of Mizzou. If not, get there quick Eric! it's must see T.V.
Yay for Eric! I can't wait to come visit the next time we're in Columbia which I think will be soon.
Such a great apartment and I'm sure he'll like it there. I feel bad for you, Cindy but know you and Joe will do well. You both have so much to be proud of with all of your sons. Just happy you will be able to visit.
