CHRISTMAS AT SILVER DOLLAR CITY

We had just a great time at SDC. This year we got to see several other shows that they have. Like the saloon show Fa La la Follies and the Living Nativity. It is very refreshing that even though this company is trying to make the almighty dollar from us they are not afraid to tell us that they are Christians and believe in the story of Christmas Day. They say that there are enough lights to stretch from Branson all the way to St. Louis about 4 Million lights. We watched our favorite show 2 more times. A Christmas Carol. It is a musical version of the story , it is such a great production. For those of you that have been there we rode Thunderation. I forgot about a little thing called wind chill, oh my it was cold.

Below is part of the Christmas parade that comes through 2 times a night. It was a lot of fun again. I always feel like I have a smile when I go to SDC. Also got to see Joe Benjamin and his wife. They are still working down there for maybe 2 more years. If you love Christmas time like we do you need to go sometime. It is just so damn hard to get decent pictures of lights. Took a shit load but not to many turned out. Oh well I guess we will have to go back again.

It was so much fun...Joe and I had a great time. We didn't get a funnel cake, and that was upsetting, but the Wassell...well it was SO YUMMY> We again got turnovers before leaving sunday night(2for1)and you wouldn't believe the size of these things. We also got an apple dumpling which had the flakest, tastiest, crust ever...YUM>>> The food was great, but we enjoyed the shows too. This was the first time we got to see the Live Nativity, which had a Narrator who had a wonderful stage presence. We also saw a show of 'Musical Instuments from the Bible", and we enjoyed that too. The Saloon show was really fun...quite comical, and we sat with an older couple from Nebraska that said they had been coming for over 20 years...wow. It was good to talk to the Benjamin's, who had a granddaughter staying with them, and then Joe, Jr. came in to say goodbye too. They sure seem to have a really nice family. It was a great time, and I would love to be like the couple from Nebraska...though I would love to bring my grandkids someday.

Looks like a great time. And I'd love to see the Benjamins. It's been a lot of years.

It all looked like so much fun...and the food......Glad you both had a great time. The Christmas parade reminds me of Disney's Electric Parade which I could watch over and over and still get misty-eyed. Thanks for the pics Joe
