THANKS

I just wanted to thank all of you that have called, emailed and wished Adam well at Jan's house. Thanks Jan for having the picnic so we come all get together. It has been pretty sad around here. Kind of hard to come up with anything funny to write about. So I thought I would share some pictures from the day he left.

It was a dark and foggy morning........
Early too.

Joe,
We love you and are thinking about you and Cindy. I know it is tough but he is an awesome young man and this is a great opportunity. We will be praying for him.

Thanks Deb
This is one of those RARE times that I am glad I have a big family.

You and Cindy should both be very proud of yourself. Your guidance has given him courage to seek his dream. But at the same time, he will always know where HOME is.

Those pictures made me teary. Adam is so brave to know what he wants and is going for it. He has a great head on his shoulders and I know he will do well. It will be hardest on those left behind. Thanks for sharing. Love you!

One of my best kept secrets is how hard I cried when both of my kids left. On the surface I was all "hooray!" So I know how hard it is. I'm thinking of you guys, and sending love from afar. And I'm really looking forward to seeing Adam in NYC in November.

Joe and Cindy

You should be very proud of your accomplishments - it takes a special type of parenting to raise your children to be totally independent and to want to run away - uh, I mean - venture out on their own and achieve greatness!

Best of luck to Adam with his new adventure - and to you two as you deal with his greatness so far away!

Joe and Cindy,
I can't imagine how tough this is. It seems like just yeserday when I met him at the tender age of 8. It is certainly hard to wrap my mind around the fact the he is grown up enough to make this move. But, as many other people have said, you both should be proud not only of Adam, Cody and Eric, but also of yourselves. You guys gave him the strength and the courage to do this. This is probably more difficult for him than he will ever let on to you guys.
Please let him know that Uncle Jim and I are extremely proud of him and very impressed. We can't wait to hear about all of his new adventures.

Good Luck Adam!

Thanks for the pics Joe-I feel like I was there.....sleepy and crying. I think this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Adam-just hope he returns to Quincy at sometime in his life. I think the letting go stage of parenting is the hardest= a true test of whether you have done your job well....and you two have!

You guys are more than welcome to borrow me anytime you want....I'm usually at that tiny house kitty-kornered from you.

Thanks everyone...I am sure Adam will be a great success, and I only pray for his happiness and safety, and it means a lot to have everyone support. Unlike Jer, though, it is NO secret that I balled like a baby the night he left.(and several times since) I slept with his pillow, just to 'smell' him(and it was not that wonderful fresh baby smell anymore, but it was MY baby's smell) It will get easier as he really moves into his adult life, and we all adjust to that, but for now, I am HAPPY beyond words for him and equally as sad for me. Like Joe, this is one of the times I feel VERY blessed to have a big family (and enough extra cash to PAY Cody not to leave me) I love you all!

It has to be hard seeing Adam go so far away and knowing that you will see him less often. We all wish him the best but are sad to see him go. We all nee dto remember that there are beautiful mountains in New York that we have never taken a family vacation to see (Anarondacks). I say we let Adam get settled, make some friends and adjust and then we all visit him. I'm free from June untill August. If that works for anyone let me know. We will miss him and he will always be with us if we keep him in mind. I know family functions just won't be the same. I had some great material, but felt like being serious.

Todd asked me what that third picture was....he thought it was a suitcase. Yep, there's your sign.

Hey, when do we get to start the jokes about Adam living with a nun?

Anonymous said...

Hey, take your best shot...personally I am worried about the kind of meat he will eat on Friday....NUN!?!?!?

I hope he don't make a habit out of it.
Get it habit.......

I'm going to the Catskill Mountains in New York state in November.

Meant to ask--wanna come?

Cats kill mountains. Kind of sick for a vegetarian. It's okay to kill them, just don't eat them. Riiiigggghhhhttttt!

Two anonymous postings in a row. Are they both Jeff? Is he talking to himself again? I thought I was the only one who did that.

21 comments has to be a record for a blog, stop the madness, I do not have time to keep checking, I am so proud of Adam, I too went away and did not plan on coming back but look how that turned out, unless you go away you do not really know what you have
