WHAT? DO WE LIVE IN SARAJEVO?

No just Spring Street. Cindy thought we lived in a bad neighborhood so we called in the National Guard.Behind St FrancisJohn and Paulette's house if you haven't seen it lately.

Thanks for the pictures, Joe. We went by John and Paulettes house last Sunday...they are really moving along. I was going to offer to help with the trusses and inside stud-walls...but from the pic it looks like they are done! FASTER than we moved for sure. So happy for them! It is truly an exciting time in your life.

I had to go to Keokuk yesterday for some blood-work...the flooding is really something to see...I lived in MI in 1993...so this is the first time I've seen it firsthand. Anyway thanks for your blog..I LOVE IT! Deb

This whole flood has been amazing. I'm just in awe of the water and how this can happen. Todd and Drew went sandbagging yesterday and were talking to some of the National Guardsmen. I guess there are 300 of them staying in the fitness center at QU and they only have 8 showers!! They are putting in VERY long days too so we are very thankful for them!

they really are all over this neighborhood, running, walking to ayerco and walgreens. Checking out my garden and my abs. The girl guards that is. shup.

It has felt really strange being SURROUNDED by the National Guard. They have Oak blocked off 18th to 20th and have 3 large decontamination centers set up that are hooked into our fire hydrants. There are also lots of them staying in Centennial Hall with a parking lot full of military vehicles including there own fueling trucks. I have been through a few floods, and this one is surreal being right in the neighborhood. And hey, Al Roker was standing on OUR bridge this morning...In OUR neck of the Woods...too cool.

I saw Al Roker and ended up taping the rest of the Today show to watch later since I wasn't going to be home. I would have loved to have met him somehow.

I took some more pictures last night that I'll post on my blog today.

Someone from work was behind Al at Walmart last night. He was buying rubber boots for this morning's show.
