Got to get that goodness in me. Grandma's sugar cookie's as made by Jan's loving hands. I still say she was missing the key ingredient ........... SUGAR. She claims she made them exactly like grandma did. They didn't taste like I remembered. So either she did or we really were so poor when we were kids that we thought those pieces of dough formed into the shape of a cookie actually tasted good.

I love this picture and remember the occasion.
As for the cookies, I remember them as being very flaky, but not too sweet. Except for the sugar on top. When I made them, no one liked them either. Maybe Grandma made them with more sugar then she put in the recipe. Who knows... probably one of the greatest mysteries of the universe. But that means Jeff will still know the answer because he's the smartest.

Did you notice in the picture that it looks like Nate is gagging?? Love it. Maybe it's not such a bad thing that I don't remember those cookies. Dad, is that why you started the sugar cookie tradition with your grandsons???

Sugar cookies main ingredient is love. I don't know if Jan adds that or skips to the sugar is optional part. Either way, (Jan I love you) those cookies do not remotely taste like grandmas. Now your stuffed pepper recipe, that is some recipe.

When John has Baking with Grandpa night, we use Betty's (as in Bettty Crocker)recipe.....good sugar cookies, except for some reason we get so many less tha the package states....where DOES that dough go?
All is right with the world. Jeff is no longer Anonymous. I get to see Jer's face again on my comments. John lost more dough, imagine that and Jan comments on my blog. If only Jim was here we would be a family again.
