HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

To all you fathers out there have a great day, enjoy your children and watch some TV. That is my advice for the day. I still remember dad telling me that day that he couldn't wait to take me hunting and fishing. He was going to teach me how to take the klinkers out. How to walk a mile for a camel. How to get home from the tavern when your dead dog drunk. How to throw 7's back to back.
One thing I was always happy about, even though you were in a lot of pain, you were always there for us(younger kids).
Here is a back rub for you Joe, now you owe me 30 of them later.

8 years old and Bill is already a foot taller than me.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

The first picture reminds me that before Dad had a cane he used Joe as a walker. At least as his "Sunday go to meetin'" walker. I was used for every day chores ie, bathroom, kitchen and Rita's house. He told me that day of 3 things that will get you along in life. 1. Cover for me
2. It was like that when I got here. 3. Good idea boss. I miss you and always felt fortunate that you were always home and I knew you a lot better than my friends knew theirs. Have a great day!

what a nice blog. We were lucky to have had a Dad that talked to us even if he was saying move so I can see the tv, or shhh wait until a commercial, I do not eat deer meet or can you pick up some Hall's. I still remember him teaching Lucky and Heidi to do tricks. Some of us were more lucky to remember him not being in bed. Happy Father's Day Dad, we sure do love and miss you.

These pictures are awesome, Joe. That's how I remember him. We'd eat dinner every day at 5:00 on the dot. He must have gotten off work at Jost and Kiefer at 4:30. We were indeed fortunate to have Mom home with us, and Dad after he got sick. Happy memories even through the bad times. Thanks so much, Joe, for the tribute to Dad. Happy fathers' day to all you guys. Love you!

Your dad looks so vibrant and healthy, and what a cute little muffin my Joey Bear was!!!

I hope all the dad's had a great day, and that your children appreciate all you've done for them. As for Joe, I feel SO blessed to have found a man that could not be a better co-parent for my kids, or that could love his boys more.

Like Paulette, and most the rest of you blog readers, my heart is a little heavy on this day we honor our dad's. I miss my own terribly at times. I wish I would not have wasted the time we had thinking there would always be more years to 'catch up'. There are times though I swear he is right here telling my that our time will come but to enjoy the time I have with my family now. He was a pretty wise man.

In the first picture Dad is thinking....Thank goodness, only Jay and Jill left to do this crap for. WHat, your pregnant!

What a great blog! Like Cindy and Paulette I miss my Dad and wish he was still here. He would be 100 though.
Ed was a great father-in-law. He was never critical and always happy to see us. How many people in your life are always happy to see you?

Andre--you are SO right. Every morning we were here...right here living with him....he would say "Bring my boy out here, I can't wait to see him and I haven't even smoked yet" I never once told him he couldn't but he just knew it was best for Adam so he always refrained. I hate that Adam can't remember his special mornings with his grandpa, but I will never forget them.
