A SUNRISE FOR MY MOMMA

I got off work this morning at 6:15, I didn't think the cemetery was open yet and it was still dark so I went to Walmart for a bit. The sky was already looking the slightest bit of orange. When I came out of Walmart there, to the east was one of the prettiest sunrise I have ever seen. So I snapped a couple pics, This is one of the best.It kind of felt like it was there for me, telling me, Joe I am alright, please take care of my family, Jer with that meat thing and dogs everywhere. Jan with that meat thing and dogs everywhere. John with that clinker thing, tell him to let it go. And the sunrise continued.....I guess I did alright with the rest of you kids. Except Jay, he will be the B I G 5 0 this year, it is about time I tell him. His daddy was Tubby Tushaus or Uncle Bob definitely not Bud Bruening. Now it's out. I feel much better. Maybe Robin Clark, doubt it though.
That was an awful lot of info from just one sunrise.

I was checking out last years blog post. It was a pretty good one with lots of great memories.

http://bozarthblog.blogspot.com/2006/11/i-hate-to-drink-alone.html

I was wearing shorts last year. this year I about froze. 38 degrees and a 20 mph wind. Brrrrrrrr. I did pull a John, you can't tell it but I am wearing the same shirt.

You know it won't be long before half of us will have lived longer than mom, I hope I make it.

So let this be a lesson to us, life is short and so is....... OK not Jer this time. Life is short and so am I. Treat your family and your friends like you will never see them again because someday you won't.

I said it before and I will say it again "I love coming from a big family"

What a gorgeous sunrise. It almost makes me want to get up early one morning to see one...NOT! But I sure enjoy the pictures. Joe, I think you spend more time at the cemetary than anyone I know. You need a chair out there.

It would be so awesome to have Grandma and Grandpa here for one more big Bozarth Christmas.

ah honey, you made me cry. I am sorry your mom and dad aren't here now to see what a great family we have. Christmas with them would be wonderful! I hope your day is FULL of the good memories you have of your mom, and I am happy to say you are wonderful at treating me like I might not be with you tomorrow....hmmmm? Hugs and Kisses sweetie

I was there this morning Joe at 7:30. Sorry I missed you. After, I went to poop at Hardees. I noticed that they had a Burger Chef display there at 12th and Locust. Go figure. Love you guys.

Joe, I re-read your blog from last year. It was great, as were all the comments. Am sitting here at work, laughing and crying at the same time. Luckily no one else is here to witness it. Jer

John always says that mornings are the best time of the day-and with sunrises like that to start the day....he may be right-but I would prefer them about 3 hours later....I am glad Elaine talked to you-I imagine she had a lot to say!!!

Adam, please tell me you're at Rockefeller Center tonight for the lighting of the Christmas tree!!

Imagine being in New York to see the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree! Elaine would have enjoyed seeing her grandchildren grow up and live in places she could only imagine. How much would she have loved "talking" on Joe's blog and "visiting" through emails. I was pregnant with her seventh grandchild when she died. I can only imagine the delight my newborn daughter would have brought her. Her eighth great grandchild is going to be named Elaine, how much that must delight her! I believe she is watching over all of us, still. Twenty-seven years she's been gone from this earth and still she is very much on the minds of her children today and that says everything about the kind of mother she was.

If my dad was Robine Clark, at least spell his name right. He wasn't Batman's sidekick. Mom, I wish you could have known the kind of dad I was - the good - the bad - the ugly. I tried to be as good a parent as you and Dad were. (except if I'd known Robine was my dad I would have taken it down a notch) I think about you often, and am awestruck that you could put up with all of us. Kiss Jill for me.

Joe thanks for the blog. I know with all the hours you work, you don't have a lot of free time. I know Mom would have loved your blog.

Jay, it's Robyn.

You stand corrected Jer!

What the scenery reminded me of is the sky on the evening she died. we girls were so lucky to have been there, dying really is a beautiful experience, maybe someday i will let you all read my short story on the night. i know some of you did read it, what a beautiful moment that was and how wonderfully lucky we were to be with her, miss ya mom

When I saw the beautiful sunrise I thought of the same thing that Jane did. I had looked out the window at the gloomy, rainy day and said what an awful day to die. Then after we witnessed the most beautiful death I've ever seen, I glanced at the window again and there was a bright ray of light coming down to earth right through the dark clouds. We knew it was Mom's passage into heaven.
I love everyone's comments and cried through it all. Mom truly was a remarkable person and missed just as much today as the day she died. She would definatly love getting together with all of us.
Love you Mom.

Thanks for the pictures Uncle Joe. I wish I would have met Grandma...if we weren't all such die-hard Christians I would think I am perhaps Elaine reincarnated. Instead I beleive she is in Heaven looking down on this huge crazy family and laughing.

Suzie, I am sure grandma would have loved you and the rest of her grandkids and great-grandkids. Because I think you might be to sweet to be her reincarnated. She had a dark, sinister side that apparently none of my siblings remember. I seem to be the only one that has inherited those qualities.

I miss you guys so much. Wish I had the money to come home every weekend. Seriously.

(PS--Burn this note.)

Joe as I remember, she looked a lot like JFK. She was always saying "Ask not what your country can do for you..." She was also never seen riding in a convertible!

Anonymous said...

Suzie I can't wait to see you!! Daddy and I always wondered if you were the original Q-Tip reincarnated. You were always eyeing the cat food...

Jer, you probably feel that way because you don't live near them. I do live near them and let me tell you it's no picnic!

I have to say I could not believe the sunrise either yesterday while driving to work - I was tempted to speed out to the cabin and get a silhouette of the Cabin with that sky in the background - thought that'd be cool.

Again, I'm sure most of G-ma's memories of me were changing my shitty pants:)...wish she could have seen my graduate to the big boy potty.

...If I had a job where I could drink at 6:30 in the morning I'd still be messing my pants...

Now I need to know who "anonymous" is.

Anonymous said...

Jer see if you can figure it out. I will answer 7 yes/no questions.

Jerilyn Dufresne, author said...

It's either Andrea or Jeff.

Anonymous said...

You're right....now which one is it?

Jerilyn Dufresne, author said...

Okay, you said I got 7 yes/no questions. As long as you promise to be honest, then I only need one. Are you female?

Anonymous said...

Yes

Anonymous said...

I should explain that I don't like picnics, never have. So it's a good thing that living near them is no picnic.
Also it was said in jest, yes that's the key, that's the ticket, it was said in jest. (SNL) Plus I think after 20 years we should get to lose the out-law status. What do you think?

Anonymous said...

It was me, I can't let Andrea take the heat!

Anonymous said...

I like the way you think Mrs. Jay Bozarth..I got that it was a joke, but you are right about the outlaw status...Heck we've been Bozarth longer than almost ALL the Bozarth's, except John, Joe, Jay, Jeff, Jim and Matt....and Paulette beats him too. :o)

Jerilyn Dufresne, author said...

I knew it was a joke. You're way too outnumbered to have been serious. :)

Anonymous said...

I only tease people I like!!

Anonymous said...

Elaine used to say that all the time.

Jerilyn Dufresne, author said...

I wasn't the least bit upset. Thought it was funny.

And Mom used to say that to me all the time. I'd come home crying because some boys were teasing me. She'd say, "They wouldn't tease you if they didn't like you." And for some reason I believed her. :)
